Choose Longer Freshwater Tropical Fish Aquarium
Aquariums with more water capacity will allow you to raise plenty of freshwater tropical fish. Bigger tanks are easy to maintain and you can clean them more effectively than you do with smaller tanks. However, longer tank is an ideal choice than selecting taller tank with same amount of water capacity. For example, a 20-gallon-long tank with greater surface area will host more tropical fish than taller tanks with less surface area. In addition, you will have the benefit of more oxygen supply in longer tanks. Remember, the modern aquarium equipments will distribute the water in the aquarium by mechanical means to oxygenate the water. If you have a greater surface area, then it is quite possible to create adequate oxygen exchange. Definitely, longer tanks have plenty of benefits and they must be your first choice.
