This Canon 550D model is meant to swap it’s older brother the EOS 500D, but Canon still states that will keep to manufacture them. The Canon 550D is meant to replace the older EOS 500D, the older camera is still going to be produced by Canon with virtually the same counterparts. Added reviews also state the Canon 550D is all but about the same or one and the same with the same counterparts to the EOS 500D. Hence, the 550D is still like the big champ EOS 7D in many functional areas.
