Xbox 360 Red Lights — Problem Solved

No one knows for sure what the record is for the number of times a single Xbox 360 owner has experienced the xbox 360 red lights problem, but I personally know of people who have experienced this problem 3 and even 4 times. The one thing all of them have in common is that they purchased their Xbox 360 when the unit first came out and was plagued with a major design flaw where the heat that builds up inside the unit during gameplay could not be dissipated sufficiently just from the cooling holes that were drilled into the GPU (general processing unit). Many times this problem was compounded by placement of the Xbox 360. For instance, putting the Xbox 360 on a shag carpeting would greatly diminish the amount of cooling that could take place because the hot air trying to rise up through the holes in the GPU could not be replaced by cool air from below (as would be the case with deep pile carpeting). Basically the same problems occurs if you place your Xbox 360 inside an entertainment console was a closed-door. Excessive heat buildup inside the enclosed space will also cause the hardware failure to occur.
